Points
For digitizing point object find object location first and then make a click on the map at object’s location. Dragging map at the same time works as „pan” so digitizing is enabled only when mouse is not moving. Such „control” over mouse movement improves digitizing usability a lot (no need to „jump” between navigation and digitizing buttons).
Polylines
Click on map to start digitizing line object and double-click to finish. Every new click adds node and by dragging the nodes it is possible to edit the line. It is poissible to add nodes by moving to a line segment with mouse cursor („virtual node” appears) and remove nodes by pressing „Del“ while node is under the cursor.
Polygons
Click on map to start digitizing polygon and double-click to finish. Every new click adds node and by dragging the nodes it is possible to edit the object exactly as in case of polyline. Click on an object enables selecting objects in current demo (nodes appear) and click outside an object enables deselect.
Custom shapes
MapCat enables digitizing several shapes (usually used for digitizing geofences or for requests type of „find nearest locations around me”). Start digitizing circle from centre and rectancle from corner (one left click), draw shape by moving mouse and end digitizing with new click.
Style and symbol defining
MapCat uses flash mostly because of it’s excellent multimedia and vector graphics support. Users can freely define symbols they like and use their own custom design for POI-s etc. Mapcat also inclused at least 64 pre-defined symbols and all object styles (color, transparency, borders, line width etc) are configurable.
